Les Gorges du Pont du Diable ('Bridge of the Devil).

At the entrance, there was a cafeteria and a souvenir shop.

We took our time walking down the path through a beautiful green forest.

Going down was not a problem, going back up was..! A true test for fasting people like us.

This is where the fun started. Visitors were not allowed to enter without a guide (for safety reasons). It was a bit slippery inside. and TIGHT too, if u know what i mean. Luckily for moi, i'm short. I don't have to bend over much, if you know what i mean.

The first thing we saw inside the 'cave'. The cave was actually made from big rocks falling into this narrow valley, hence making an arc or a bridge.

The bridge is the one covered in green vegetation (above). Back in the days, some villagers ventured on it... fell... and killed themselves. So the other villagers taught the Devil haunted the bridge. They consequently called it the Bridge of the Devil and the name stuck since.

Someone wrote the name of their lover in the year 1848. *sweet* immortal love set in stone

I should've known better..

“When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.”
In my case, when one friendships dies, another rekindles. Today i received messages from an old friend in Brunei. It has been a while since the last time we spoke... both of us got real busy after being posted overseas. We were both on opposite sides of the planet, and the time difference actually played a major part on why we lost touch... misunderstandings were cleared and I'm glad to have talked to her again.. :-)
Let the good times roll~

This post is dedicted to you.

It's been a while since I last wrote down my thoughts or feelings in my posts. So i've decided to this time say something about you, my friend.

I know things have been great between us over the years. But as time goes by, things gradually change.. the distance doesn't help... we drift apart and as they say, nature has taken its course.

I am sorry things have to be this way, but i'm afraid this is a choice i made on my own... You will notice that i don't reply to your emails... or your msgs. I don't answer your calls or send christmas presents.

I once heard someone sing,
'All the miseries in the world combined, is nothing...
compared to how i feel when you say good bye'.

I think this is for our own good, before things get worse and the fond memories we share together turn into bad fragments of my reality.

Let us dream a dream... and let us part with good will and well wishes.

I say farewell to you my sweet love, have a great life and see you on the other side.

xoxo

...in Yvoire.

I took my parents to Yvoire, a small medieval village in the Haute-Savoie department of France. We managed to kill some time and fasting didn't seem so long.. except when you see other people enjoying ice-cream... erkk! hee hee

Fêtes de Genève 2010

It was the end of the Fêtes de Genève last weekend... the festival that comes and goes but only once a year in Geneva. It took us about an hour to get there with the traffic and all, but took me 2 mins to find parking (lucky). The roads were blocked... there were food stalls everywhere.. the music was LOUD... and there were lots and lots and lots of people. like... lots. for geneva standards anyway. :-)
