Glières Plateau

This plateau was an important operation base for the French resistance during World War II. The site was chosen in January 1944 to accept British parachute drops of arms. A large drop on 10 March was said to have brought some 45 tonnes of weapons. The site was strategically chosen as the mountain was poorly accessible by road (and therefore by the enemy) but identifiable by allied aircraft through its proximity to Lake Annecy. The "battle of Glières" (March 1944) left 121 dead against almost 5000 soldiers from the Wehrmacht and the Vichy milice. French Presidents often visit this place to pay their respects.

We walked for about 6 kms and had a yummy lunch half way.

Those were the names of the drinks we ordered. We were supposed to try out Zumba but the instructor for whatever reason didn't come. So we ended up going for drinks instead. The glasses were huge!

Vide Grenier

Nao organised a garage sale for me and two other friends, we did really well! We got to not only practice our french, meet and talk to the other locals, but we also managed to make about 170 euros for selling junk uhh I mean stuff we were going to throw out anyway. Yay! The weather was perfect despite the heavy rain the day before, great day to be outside.. Good timing too, we managed to get rid of stuff right before moving to our new place next week!
